چکیده

Arthrobacter sp. BCC 72131, an obligate aerobic bacterium, was used to create anaerobic conditions, and Clostridium beijerinckii TISTR 1461 as a butanol producer in acetone-butanol–ethanol (ABE) fermentation. Sweet sorghum juice (SSJ) medium containing 60 g/L of total sugar supplemented with 1.27 (NH4)2SO4 production (BP) medium. inoculated into the BP 1-L screw-capped bottles. After 2, 4, 6 12 h cultivation at 30 °C, C. transferred start 37 °C. The results showed that inoculation after gave highest titer (PB) 12.56 g/L, yield (YB/S) volumetric productivity (QB) 0.34 g/g 0.23 g/L·h, respectively. These values are approximately 10–27% higher than those control experiment using single culture oxygen-free nitrogen (OFN) gas flushing conditions. Field emission scanning electron microscopic (FE-SEM) images cells, well protein free amino concentrations broth during fermentation were also studied confirm results. then carried out 5.6-L stirred-tank 1.2-L low-cost gas-lift bioreactor by mixed cultures optimal time inoculation. PB, YB/S QB obtained not significantly different from Hence, can be novel method conditions instead traditional employing OFN flushing. Using 72131 is practical produce on large-scale, both complex bioreactors.

Butanol production from wheat straw hydrolysate using Clostridium beijerinckii.

In these studies, butanol (acetone butanol ethanol or ABE) was produced from wheat straw hydrolysate (WSH) in batch cultures using Clostridium beijerinckii P260. In control fermentation 48.9 g L(-1) glucose (initial sugar 62.0 g L(-1)) was used to produce 20.1 g L(-1) ABE with a productivity and yield of 0.28 g L(-1 )h(-1) and 0.41, respectively. In a similar experiment where WSH (60.2 g L(-1) ...

Butanol production from agricultural residues: Impact of degradation products on Clostridium beijerinckii growth and butanol fermentation.

During pretreatment and hydrolysis of fiber-rich agricultural biomass, compounds such as salts, furfural, hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF), acetic, ferulic, glucuronic, rho-coumaric acids, and phenolic compounds are produced. Clostridium beijerinckii BA101 can utilize the individual sugars present in lignocellulosic [e.g., corn fiber, distillers dry grain solubles (DDGS), etc] hydrolysates such as ...

Continuous butanol fermentation and feed starch retrogradation: butanol fermentation sustainability using Clostridium beijerinckii BA101.

Use of starch solution as feed for butanol bioconversion processes employing Clostridium beijerinckii BA101 may have added economic advantage over the use of glucose. Acetone butanol ethanol (ABE) was produced from 30 gL(-1) starch solution using a continuous process. The bioreactor was fed at a dilution rate of 0.02 h(-1) and starch solution/feed volume (3 L) was replaced every 72 h. The conti...

Butanol production by Clostridium beijerinckii. Part I: use of acid and enzyme hydrolyzed corn fiber.

Fermentation of sulfuric acid treated corn fiber hydrolysate (SACFH) inhibited cell growth and butanol production (1.7+/-0.2g/L acetone butanol ethanol or ABE) by Clostridium beijerinckii BA101. Treatment of SACFH with XAD-4 resin removed some of the inhibitors resulting in the production of 9.3+/-0.5 g/L ABE and a yield of 0.39+/-0.015. Fermentation of enzyme treated corn fiber hydrolysate (ET...
